Grant Wood in Cross Stitch

The Midnight Ride of Paul Revere

The work of Grant Wood is recognized by most Americans although they may not realize it.  He is the artist who created "American Gothic".  He was a huge talent and the piece above is among his work.

According to the Grant Wood Art Gallery, Mr. Wood painted The Midnight Ride of Paul Revere as he had imagined it as a child.  I was delighted to find that this beautiful piece has been translated into cross stitch!!

The photo above comes from the Scarlet Quince website - you can find it at Scarlet Quince.

I already have the chart and am a bit intimidated by the sheer size of the piece at 487 x 362 stitches.  Since it is solidly stitched I don't yet know what fabric I will select.
